Powder Coating
Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. Unlike conventional liquid paint which is delivered via an evaporating solvent, powder coating is typically applied electrostatically and then cured under heat or with ultraviolet light. The powder may be a thermoplastic or a thermoset polymer. It is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint. Powder coating is mainly used for coating of metals.
Sand Blasting
Sand Blasting is the process of taking a media, not necessarily sand, and projecting it at the surface of an object at a high velocity. Doing so not only removes any previous coating or rust on the surface, but also cleans the surface. Sand blasting is the most important step when it comes to the powder coating process, because as mentioned earlier it removes all previous coatings and contaminants but also etches the metal to give the powder the best mechanical adhesion to adhere to the object.
Ceramic Coating
Ceramic Coating is a durable coating that is composed of a polymer-ceramic compound. Ceramic coating is not only durable but has a high heat tolerance, which makes it perfect for exhaust systems, in which powder coating is not suitable for. Along with not only looking good there are several other gains you can benefit from with ceramic coating.
Welding
When a project comes in any weld is inspected for quality. A bad weld could not only be dangerous but could also affect the final finish when powder coating. Have a aluminum wheel that cracked?
